U.S. Small Business Administration Honors Patricia A. Kotze-Ramos of Diversified Risk Management, Inc., 2012 Women in Business Champion of the Year award.

Diversified Risk Management, Inc., (DRM, Inc.) a nationwide investigation and security consulting firm is honored to announce that its President Patricia A. KotzeRamos, has been recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration?s Los Angeles District Office.

Mrs. KotzeRamos received the prestigious Women in Business Champion of the Year Award. Ms. Larissa Ordaz, Director of Business Development, Contract and Government Services at DRM, Inc. shared her enthusiasm about the award by saying, ?I congratulate Patricia for her amazing accomplishments and especially for being able to successfully grow her business in a male dominated industry.?

DRM will soon be celebrating its 10th year anniversary this coming July as a licensed corporate investigation firm.

Mrs. Kotze-Ramos is among 13 businesses from the counties Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara to receive recognition in observance of National Small Business Week. Each business was nominated by local trade and/or professional associations, chambers of commerce and businesses award organizations.

On Wednesday, June 13, 2012 Mrs. KotzeRamos will be honored at a luncheon at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel located at 506 S. Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles. The luncheon attracts over 300 small business owners and advocates honoring the achievements if small business in 11 awards categories.

Mrs. KotzeRamos is not only a business woman but also a civic lead leader Patricia said, These are difficult days for Californians with the lagging economy and budget issues in Sacramento. My qualifications and business experience allow me to bring a unique perspective to help our residents, businesses, and local governments collaborate to maintain necessary services and encourage job growth in California.?

Ms. Ordaz described the numerous certifications secured by DRM, Inc., including the Small Business Administrations 8M Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) designations.

Under the 8M Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program, contracting officers are permitted to set aside specific federal contracts for both WOSB- and EDWOSB-certified organizations, to ensure they receive equal access to these federal contracting opportunities. In order to qualify for the 8M WOSB certification, one or more women must own and control at least 51% of the business, and must hold the highest officer position in the company.

DRM, Inc. has also received certifications from the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), a third- party certifier of businesses owned, controlled and operated by women, as well as the California Unified Certification Programs (CUCP) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise & Women Business Enterprise certifications.

The CUCP provides a universally-accepted United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) certification for small, minority and women-owned businesses seeking to participate in the USDOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, eliminating the need for several smaller certifications in this area.
