How Safe is Your Health (and Waist) From These 20 Foods?

?

By making small tweaks to your diet, you can realize some amazing health benefits over time. Here?s a list of 20 simple food swaps that will put you on a fast-track to eating nutritiously?and deliciously!

?

Instead of potato or corn chips?

Go for organic (non-gmo) popcorn (not microwave) sprinkled with nutritional yeast or roasted, salted pumpkin seeds (pepitas)

Why? You still get the salty crunch you?re after while getting lots more nutrients

?

?

?

?

?

?

?

Instead of white potatoes?

Go for sweet potatoes

Why? They?re packed with antioxidants and have a lower glycemic index than their white cousins

?

Instead of conventional apples and celery? ?

Go for organic apples and celery

Why? These crops are the most heavily sprayed with pesticides; avoid conventional at all costs

?

Instead of wheat bread?

Go for sprouted wheat bread (Ezekial)/wraps or gluten-free options not made from soy

Why? Unsprouted wheat and gluten are tough for the body to digest

?

Instead of white rice

Go for brown rice, wild rice or black rice

Why? There?s more fiber, more flavor, and it?s less likely to cause a spike in blood sugar

?

Instead of brown rice

Go for quinoa or amaranth

Why? These have more protein than brown rice. ?Quinoa is a chameleon and will take any flavor you cook with. ?Try a making a quinoa cereal that you make yourself by adding apples, walnuts, pecans, goji berries, cinnamon, vanilla and almond milk. ?Heat on low for 5 minutes, its a breakfast filled with protein, nutrients and ?mental clarity?

?

Instead of canned beans?

Go for dried beans, soaked

Why? Most cans contain BPA; soaked beans are easier to digest and you control the salt content

?

Instead of scrambled eggs? ??

Go for sunny side up or a veggie omelet

Why? Many people cook out the benefits of eggs while scrambling; here?s a high-protein breakfast with veggies included

?

Instead of peanuts or peanut butter?

Go for almonds and almond butter

Why? Peanuts are heavily sprayed with pesticides and can harbor mold that give off toxins (aflatoxins) from being stored in damp silos; peanuts are also slightly acidic whereas almonds are slightly alkaline

?

Instead of conventional beef? ??

Go for grass-fed beef

Why? When the ratio of omega-6 fats to omega-3 fats is more than 4:1, people have more health problems. Grain-fed beef?s ratio is 20:1; grass-fed beef?s ratio is 3:1 ?

?

Instead of farmed salmon?

Go for wild salmon

Why? Farmed salmon has less omega-3 per ounce, 16 times the toxins of wild, and a whack of weird additives, plus they?re swimming in their poop all day in a confined space rather than through the immense Ocean.

?

Instead of commercial salad dressing?

Go for extra-virgin olive oil +balsamic vinegar +sea salt + fresh black pepper

Why? Commercial dressing contains all kinds of additives, and oils not fit for consumption, nor found in nature; best to stay away

?

Instead of soy sauce?

Go for wheat-free tamari

Why? It?s a kinder, gentler, slightly less salty soy sauce; no gluten means it?s easier to digest

?

Instead of table salt?

Go for Celtic or Himalayan sea salt or Herbamare

Why? It?s not stripped of natural trace minerals magnesium and calcium; Herbamare includes fresh herbs so a little packs a flavorful punch. ?Celtic Sea Salt is also known to be anti-inflammatory and acts as an electrolyte in your body.

?

Instead of white sugar? ?

Go for brown rice syrup, raw honey, or natural stevia plant

Why? Evil on so many levels, refined sugar has been robbed of all beneficial nutrients the original sugar cane or beet contains. It also lacks chromium which is a chemical needed to maintain healthy blood sugar levels; all-natural options are always the better choice! ?Sugar also lowers your immune function for 4 hours per teaspoon!!!!!

?

Instead of canola oil?

Go for coconut oil?

Why? It remains stable during high-heat cooking making it ideal for baking and cooking. ?Coconut oil is also beneficial to your cholesterol and lipid profile

?

Instead of cow?s milk?

Go for unsweetened rice, almond, or hemp milk

Why? Many people are unknowingly allergic to cow?s milk; the alternatives are not phlegm-inducing. ?If you do opt for cow?s milk look for the least pasteurized forms. Stay away from ultra and ultra-ultra-pasteurized milk.

?

Instead of coffee?

Go for Teechino or Rockin? Wellness

Why? Teechino is a caffeine-free alternative that?s a blend of herbs, grains, fruits, and nuts brews up like coffee and has a similar aroma and taste. You get a boost from the nutrients, not stimulants. ?Rockin? Wellness is a SuperFood Shake that is power packed with Omega 3, nutrients and minerals most people are lacking in. ?It is an organic mixture and will help to improve your clarity, attention and immunity. ? ?

?

Instead of soda?

Go for kombucha

Why? This fermented drink is slightly sweet but low in carbs and loaded with probiotics that help to enhance the good bacteria in your gut

?

Instead of tap water

Go for artesian water

Why? It?s cleaner than filtered tap water, which still has minute particles of drugs, feces and bacteria floating in each bottle.

?

***BONUS SWAP***

This is a big one?instead of eating out, eat in more often! You?ll realize the best health benefits of all if you make this one change. You can control all of your ingredients.

Play With Toy Army Men And Get Close to Reality ? What Ever It Is

Toy soldiers have stood the test of time and the green army men are still the preferred lot for any battle. Almost every kid has grown up playing these. Based on the national defense force, playing with plastic soldiers was not just about entertainment or time pass. Toy army men was a way of life for many as the kids got an idea of how the real life situation will be and it helps them to get a broad idea of what the Army warfare really are. It was in many ways the best real-life adventure they could have at their age. Toy Army men are readily available and come cheap. They are available in green, grey and other colors, so as to form two opposing sides.

The green army men are made of rubber or plastic and the companies manufacturing them are trying to improve the quality constantly. These are mostly clad in military uniforms with World War weapons in hand. The array of weapons includes snipers, machine guns, grenades and the like. It is such weapons that draw the young blood towards this war play. But it is chiefly, this reason that critics term this as a dangerous game for kids to play. However, the popularity of the Toy army men continues unabated.

Playing toy army men is very engrossing game. The play coupled with sound effects, tactics, scheming and strategies gives a feel of a real-life encounter but that is available with specific models only. Playing green army men, kids do get motivated to join the army. Moreover, toy soldiers were one of the characters in Toy Story movie. It is widely accepted as a safe game for the kids with nothing much negative said about it. And with usage of RTV rubber there is no poisonous lead content in it too.

Travel and Leisure: Jaguar Watching - Other Animals You May See ...

Enjoy Jaguar watching in Brazil and you will have the chance to see a wide variety of South America's indigenous wildlife. Home to thousands of species of plants and animals, Brazil is a top destination for those seeking adventure holidays in natural habitats. Teeming with wildlife, the wet tropical rainforest is a unique and diverse ecosystem that provides the perfect opportunity for spotting Spider Monkeys, Capybara, Sloth and, of course, the magnificent Jaguar.

When planning your next trip to South America, visit Brazil and explore the beauty of the rainforests and get up close to some of these unique and exotic animals.

Spider Monkeys
Spending most of their time high in the forest canopy, Spider Monkeys can often be seen hanging upside down or swinging between branches looking for fruits and seeds. They have a long haired coat which can be brown, black or bronze-tinged red in colour. Their long, powerful tail allows them to leap long distances and anchors them securely to delicate branches. If you are lucky enough to see a Spider Monkey whilst Jaguar watching in Brazil, you may observe that they have only four fingers and no thumb. This is a unique characteristic that has evolved over time as a specialised adaptation for living in the forest tree tops.

Capybara
Having the title of the largest rodent in the world, the Capybara has a barrel-shaped body and small, stunted head. They prefer to live near bodies of water surrounded by dense vegetation, which provides them with protection from larger carnivorous animals such as the Jaguar. Watching these animals from river rafts is the best way to see them as they forage around the river banks feeding on grasses and aquatic plants. An interesting fact about the Capybara is that they are able to submerse themselves underwater for up to five minutes.

Sloth
These extremely slow moving animals spend most of their lives in a single tree. Sloths are nocturnal mammals and can be seen during the day sleeping curled up with their heads nestled between their legs and arms. This helps to camouflage them from larger predators such as the Jaguar. Watching the Sloth, you will notice how lethargic its movements are - living up [or down] to its well known reputation. Seeing this fascinating animal is a highlight of a trip to the Brazilian rain forest.

The Jaguar
By far the most anticipated encounter for anyone travelling into the forests of Brazil, spotting the Jaguar remains unsurpassed as the highlight of a South American nature watching trip. This elusive ambush predator is the largest and rarest feline on the South American continent and one of Brazil's most iconic apex predators.

Marissa Ellis-Snow is a freelance nature writer. If you're looking for Jaguar watching tours, Naturetrek specialises in expert-led natural history and wildlife tours worldwide. Naturetrek brings over 25 years of experience to Jaguar watching tours in some of the most spectacular regions on Earth.

Roger Clemens, comebacks, and baseball history

by Mike Clark
September 14, 2012

I do not know Roger Clemens, although he has been in my town.

I live about 30 miles from the home of the Greeneville Astros Appalachian League team, nestled in the mountains. His son, Koby Clemens, played for the G-stros and Roger would come to watch him play. A friend who had seen Roger at a game remarked at how unfriendly he had been when my friend approached. Clemens was talking on his cellphone at the time, and my friend found it rude of Clemens to refuse to sign an autograph?or even be willing to communicate with him?while he was talking on the phone.

His take? Clemens is an egocentric jerk who thinks he's better than others.

So, it is much to my amusement that, while reading the big league papers and blogs, I find who so many people seem to have a unique ability to read Clemens' mind and thoughts these days. The 50-year-old right-hander, who has been seen in Atlantic League ballparks throwing 80+ mph fastballs after a five-year layoff, is, in consensus, planning a Hall of Fame plaque-saving return to the major leagues either this year or next (apparently, Clemens' mind is cloudy on this). He's doing this for his ego, clearly. No other reason, say these astute observers.

My first thought is that Clemens is most assuredly pitching at the age of 50 for his ego. This is a man who was generally considered one of the best pitchers of his era?maybe the best. He didn't reach that pinnacle by being humble or shy.

But purely driven by making his chances of getting into Cooperstown a little easier? Seriously?

In the history of baseball, few players have managed to make a complete comeback to The Show after a five-year layoff for retirement. The closest comparisons I can think of quickly are Minnie Minoso, Satchel Paige and Jim Bouton.

Minoso, of course, was famously activated by Bill Veeck to be the only man to play in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Minoso was a beloved figure in Chicago, and his reactivations for a couple of at-bats were certainly stunts, not serious attempts at a comeback. Paige's return was also a stunt, though some have speculated that Paige expected to pitch more than he did. Bouton's return as a knuckleballer could also be considered a stunt, except Bouton worked hard in multiple minor leagues to earn the shot from Ted Turner's Braves; Bouton was 11-8 with three shutouts and a 2.82 ERA for the Braves' Savannah team in the Southern League.

All of these attempts came in eras in which players were considered less in-shape than today's athletes?training was considerably different. Today's athlete can live in an environment of his own choosing to train year-round, has access and resources for personal trainers and has top-of-the-line equipment. Simply put, Clemens in 2012 is far more capable of doing the hard work he needs to get back into playing shape than Paige in 1965.

Most of the flak for Clemens' daring to return to the game he played on such a high level stems from two things: his considerable ego (see above) and his alleged involvement with Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs). Note the word alleged. As it stands today, in a court of law, the allegations by trainer Brian McNamee have been judged false. It doesn't matter what anyone thinks; in a legal sense, there is no proof strong enough to suggest otherwise.

Yes, the wonderful thing about America is that anyone can think anything they like, and say most everything they choose to say. So, if baseball's elite tastemakers consider Clemens guilty, then they can write of their suspicions. But writing it does not make it true. I can write all I want about the Publisher's Clearing House check I feel certain is in my mailbox (I know it's there, I can feel it!) and still, it will likely not be there waiting for me to cash. Find the smoking needle and make it stick; otherwise, you're just one or two steps removed from UFOs in Roswell.

In another time, writers would be marveling at the sheer audacity of Clemens and his attempt to defy the odds. Age 50, five years out of baseball, and this man?in two games?is up to 80+ on his fastball for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League, where the hitters have been compared to Triple-A level types. I find that simply remarkable.

So now, I'm curious what Clemens might do with a full complement of spring training. Would he be able to make the cut? We saw Jamie Moyer do so this past spring, after a one-year injury recovery time out, and Moyer has never been confused with Roger Clemens. Not to be derogatory toward Moyer at all; even he surely knows he's never been as overwhelming a force as Clemens has been.

Much has been written about how Clemens would overshadow his young teammates, create a circus in spring training, cause problems, etc. Many have snickered that Clemens could teach these younger players only how to use PEDs. Really?

Ignore the fact that the circus would actually be caused by some of the same reporters predicting its arrival. Clemens would?by his presence?speak to the very heart of what younger athletes need to learn. Dedication to the sport, shutting off the distractions and doing the hard work required to pitch in the big leagues. They will learn by watching a driven professional attempting what everyone considered impossible (and a joke). Anyone think Clemens is putting in the effort just to pitch middle innings and be an extra arm in the 'pen?

As a fan of baseball history, I'm rooting for Clemens, and his ego. I'm rooting for the Astros' Jim Crane to sign him and invite him to 2013 spring training. I want to see this man attempt what no one has done before. Call me naive, but as a baseball fan I don't care if it's a "stunt." Owners do what owners do. The sanctity of the sport, the purity of the game, went out the window long before Casey Stengel held court for the original New York Mets, before Eddie Gaedel earned a walk, and before Rube Waddell started chasing fire trucks. Baseball is part of the entertainment universe. A potential Clemens return makes the game interesting. Inter-league games that count in individual league standings are far more damaging to the sport than Rajah striding to the mound for Houston.

Today's game is far more complex than it was in my youth, which was more complex than in my dad's youth, and so on. That means the ability to play at such a high level is also more complex. For me, every negative ever written about Clemens, every speculation about his or the Astros' motives, every unsubstantiated rumor or allegation about steroid use or lying under oath, doesn't really matter.

Never before, to my knowledge, has a 50-year-old attempted a serious return to the highest level of baseball after five seasons of retirement. That's a story that will resonate long after Brian McNamee becomes "some guy."

You want to know what probably gets Clemens' ego stroked? To be the first to do something no one else has done.

And I'm rooting for him to do it. Pass the popcorn and pop the top on a brewski. Let's watch some history being made.

Teamwork + Planning = Business SUCCESS | SoundConnect ...

By: Ryan ? SoundConnect

From Weekly Progress Updates to a Large Annual Meeting, Small and Medium Size Businesses Should Always Keep Up Communication

The key to a successful business is having a set agenda for projects and clearly defined & communicated goals you would like to reach as a company.

SoundConnect recently held its quarterly meeting in Charleston, SC to discuss future plans, review past ideas and complete team building exercises. The team at SoundConnect utilizes web and video conferencing to host regular daily meetings and also to conduct weekly recurring meetings where team members discuss their progress and provide updates on projects they are working on. Having separate offices in different areas of the United States can sometimes take away that personal feel you get from working in the same office with someone. It is great to be able to come together in person to strategize, review, and get to know one another better.

Team building activities are a great way to emphasize the importance of everyone working toward a common goal and a great break from the standard meeting. In our recent meeting, we participated in an activity where the objective was to walk around a room while each team member held a portion of a bandana balancing a cup with a marble on top. Everyone quickly realized they had to evenly support their share of the bandana, while at the same time communicate all movements with their teammates to avoid the marble tipping too far in any direction.

This is a very important lesson when it comes to teamwork. You must all be working seamlessly together to reach your individual and team goals. Furthermore, team members must effectively communicate, lead, and take direction to keep from dropping the ball. The ball is symbolic of your team/company goals, the customer, or any project within your company that requires the support of a team to achieve.

It is very beneficial to have regular meetings with your team to review their goals, challenges, and projects they are working on.

If you are working in a small business, you know how important it is to make sure communication is constantly flowing from the top down and from the bottom up.

Checking in at these weekly meetings will give you and your coworkers a better understanding of where everyone is with their progress on tasks. Having checklists and planning sheets for individual projects can provide a timeline for your team to follow.

Using helpful planning sheets can make scheduling a project especially easy. It?s nice to break down your assignment with a daily list of steps that, once completed, will also render your project finished. Sometimes it can be difficult to actually take time aside and do the PLANNING for your project. It may seem more efficient to have a general idea and start working without any real direction or format. Common problems with not taking time to plan your project are getting behind on your progress, wasting valuable time with tasks not directly related to your goals and letting down your teammates. Another benefit to implementing planning sheets the efficiency and ease of tracking & reporting the status of your progress toward any specific goal.

Meeting in a team setting can also give your small business the opportunity for everyone to say where they might need assistance or support from co-workers or management. The right environment and opportunity for discussing any and all challenges will clear potential obstacles between you and your goals. During this time, you may find out that one employee?s weakness is another?s strength. Fully understanding everyone?s strengths and weaknesses ensures you have all the right pieces in the right places and provide everyone with the knowledge of where to seek assistance when they hit a road block.

In order to expand the company and keep on track, your company should have regular meetings and status updates. When your small business schedules will not accommodate an in person meeting or do not need to spend the extra traveling time & expenses, it?s much easier to take your next meeting online through services such as web, video or audio conferencing.

One of the most popular services is using audio conferencing. This uses toll free numbers and a hosted conference bridge to give everyone a crystal clear audio conference call. The other options, such as video and web conferencing mix the features used in audio but also add a visual element to your meeting. Using screen and document sharing in web conferencing can make it very easy to go over a project agenda and collaborate on other important documents. These features really give your meetings a personal touch and can sometimes make you forget your coworkers are hundreds of miles away from you!

Does your team meet regularly as a group either in person or using online meetings? Or do you mainly focus on individual progress using one-on-one meetings? All tactics may work well based on your company or team dynamics, but I highly recommend incorporating a monthly or quarterly in person meeting with all employees. Obviously the more employees you have and the more geographically dispersed your employees are, the more difficult it is to host the meeting. . Don?t allow the logistics or the travel cost deter you from these valuable meetings. The ROI on these meetings is outstanding!

Have a company with independent workers scattered in different countries?

Then you can take advantage of web casting and webinars to get your message to your employees. These services take video coverage of whomever you want and broadcast it to any computer or smart device with Internet access. Often your provider will also allow you to record your session, sometimes with an additional fee. This feature really adds convenience for making sure everyone gets the new business strategies even if they are unable to attend the live event

Our quarterly meeting in Charleston, SC was once again a tremendous success from an employee, team member, company, and personal level. The interaction, discussions, and ideas expanded on the camaraderie. Everyone left the meeting feeling a closer bond and a better understanding of how their role contributed to the entire team!

I can?t wait for next quarter?s meeting!!

Sony's NEX-6 satisfies the FCC with paperwork, guts

Still hungry for a closer look at Sony's WiFi-packing NEX-6 despite perusing our hands-on? Apparently the FCC feels the same, so it's used its government-granted authority to inspect the camera first-hand, and tear it apart in the process. This isn't the only time the 16.1-megapixel shooter has been given the ruler treatment, but a full copy of its user's manual has notably come along for its US visit. Check out the gallery below to view this NEX's guts, or hit the source link to gloss over a PDF of the instruction manual -- might as well get the boring stuff done before the package arrives in November.

Pink Slime Producer Sues ABC For $1.2 BILLION

A major beef processing company is suing ABC News for $1.2 billion over its coverage of "pink slime", which the company says ABC portrayed as unhealthy and unsafe.

Beef Products Inc. says ABC made 200 "false and misleading and defamatory" statements about the product, which the producer says is just lean, finely textured beef.

Here's one component of ABC News' pink slime expose:

The network quotes a former USDA scientist saying 70 percent of ground beef contains "trimmings that were once used only in dog food and cooking oil, now sprayed with ammonia to make them safe and then added to most beef as a cheaper filler."

An attorney for BPI said the company filed because "[ABC reports] caused consumers to believe that our lean beef is not beef at all, that it's an unhealthy pink slime, unsafe for public consumption, and somehow it got hidden in the meat."

The company claims the product, abbreviated as LFTB, is heated and treated to kill bacteria, and that it's actually healthier for you, by virtue of being leaner.

As for where the $1.2 billion figure came from, BPI says the reports have hurt sales so much that three out of its four plants have closed and 650 jobs have been lost.

One of the biggest purchasers of U.S. beef, McDonalds cut pink slime from its burgers early this year. TV chef Jamie Oliver has also been a public, vocal opponent.

ABC says the lawsuit is baseless and will be contested.

Atlantic City can keep its fancy projection mapping system. This animatronic wall, dubbed the Hyper-Matrix by its creators at the South Korea-based Johnpasang media group, recently made its debut at the Hyundai Exhibition Pavilion at the 2012 Yeosu EXPO. It relies on a massive grid of computer-controlled pistons to move a wall of Styrofoam blocks. Top 5 Reasons MLMs & Network Marketing Get A ... - Work At Home

Why MLMs & Networking Marketing Suck!

I don't know about you but I haven't had the best experiences with MLMs and Network Marketing Opportunities. Now let me make it clear, I'm not a HATER! Don't let the title fool you.?In my opinion there are way too many people that bash MLMs, Network Marketing, Affiliate Marketing and some home based business just because they couldn't make money with it. I don't sip on that "Hator-Aid". I think that's some old simple Simon stuff when people do that. It distorts reality and makes it hard to determine what's legit when you have people whining online because of their own shortcomings or because they can.

So to be clear I'm not one of those folks! ?But as someone that has dabbled and researched some MLM and Network Marketing opportunities I've noticed a few legitimate gripes against this industry. So let's explore and discuss them together later in this article. My hope is to actually discover legitimate companies that address these gripes in the proper way. Because honestly I would love to find a great home business that I could promote without feeling dirty or brainwashed.?

Before we do that, we need to define Multilevel Marketing (MLM) aka Network Marketing.?In a nutshell it's when you earn a commission for selling a product and you also earn a commission when someone you recruit into a company sells products as well. You can probably lump most home based business opportunities into this definition as well. ?

Hopefully that helps you understand what we're talking about. Okay, let's get into the reasons folks think MLMs suck. ?

?

1. The Reps, Agents, Brokers, etc.

I've come up with some rep types. It's not a complete list but it's probably covers a lot of reps you may have run into or you're guilty of being (Sorry in advance.).

- Fart Reps:

They come on really strong at the beginning, it's almost obnoxious. They answer all your emails or phone calls. But then once you're signed up and they have earned their commission, they slowly vanish into the air just leaving remnants?of their presence.?

- Stevie Wonder Reps.

Have you ever seen a horse that has blinders on. It literally covers their peripheral?vision. They can only see in front of them and where the rider leads them. Well there are some reps that are just like this. They'll only paint a sweet picture of their company. They won't tell you any of the bad stuff as if good companies don't have any cons or annoying things. They literally want to keep you blind so you don't actually do your research.?

- Squirrel Reps

These guys are literally nutty about their company. They scurry around the web or offline telling everyone how great their company is. But if you dare pose questions about certain practices, the product or legitimacy of their company, they go nuts on you! They might chatter off at the mouth with profanity, name calling and attack your work ethic or intelligence. I've run into quite a few people like this when I've written reviews on Ameriplan & ZeekRewards.?

- Sarah Palin Reps

These reps go rogue?and pretty much play by their own rules. They don't stick to the script or policies. They may engage in activities or practices that aren't sanctioned by their parent company to recruit other reps or to make sales. These reps ?are far more dangerous than "Stevie Wonder" reps because they'll flat out lie to you rather than keep certain information from your view. ?These types of reps can actually cause a parent company to go down or be fined.?

- Similac Reps

These reps breath smell of Similac and they're wet behind the ears. They are the baby reps. They're new to the company and they're trying to recruit anyone and everyone under them. The problem is they haven't been successful on their own and they're depending on recruiting you to make their first commission. Or in my case, they want me to join under them because they know thousands of people trust my judgement and will usually join what I recommend. Either way, these reps have it wrong. They don't understand that folks are less likely to join under someone that hasn't had some success. It's totally psychological. Folks feel they can succeed if they can see someone like them succeed too. But as a similac?rep you're at a disadvantage. It sucks because how can you prove your success if you can't get anyone to sign under you. But that goes along with some of the other reasons I'll cover later.?

So that's my list of rep types. It's no wonder why people are left jaded and then bad mouth MLMs. Is it fair? Not really, but you can see how it happens. I hate to admit it, but I've probably ignored legitimate companies because I've encountered one of these rep personas here on my blog or out on the web. Sadly, I'm probably not alone. I imagine many other people are probably unfairly assessing companies in the same way. Hopefully this article will stop this trend and we can discover the real reps which brings me to another rep type.?

?

- "100%" Reps

There is a little urban saying that goes "Keeping it 100!". For those of you that are "hood challenged" it means just being 100% real or honest. These reps that don't pull any punches. They just tell you how it is. They know that you'll find out the good and bad anyway. So they'd rather you know it up front so you don't waste their time or yours. Reps that keep it 100 will tell you the pros and cons about a given company. They'll let you know some of the stumbling blocks that the other reps try to hide. But any rep that is 100%, will try to help you around them.?Either way, they give you a choice to make an informed decision that isn't biased towards just making them a commission. If you've read my body of work for a while, you know that's what I try to do with anything I personally promote or research. Sometimes folks appreciate it and there are times where folks don't.?Unfortunately the 100% rep is a rare breed to find. But they do exist. It just takes some digging to hunt them down. Hopefully a few will chime in at the end of the article. ;)

?

2. The Products

We spent a lot of time on the reps but with any company the product will really make or break the company. Unfortunately with many MLM businesses, the products are either questionable, overpriced or have limited appeal. This can make selling them very difficult which means you're less likely to succeed. No disrespect, but I think many of the health and wellness businesses fall into this category. Have you ever tried justifying?to your family or friends that they should pay significantly more for a cleaning product because it's "green" or "safer"? Most will look at you sideways and prefer to go to their local supermarket and get a cheaper alternative (even though it may be an inferior product). If you pick a company that promotes a product or service that you wouldn't use or can't see anyone else you know using, then it's probably something that you're not going to be able to succeed with. Folks that tend to do well really believe and actually use the product or service they're promoting. So they can speak from true experiences and not a script which most people can see through. I know from my own experience I've converted way more people to the companies I promote when I show and prove that I have worked with the company and succeeded. So when you're choosing a business, you need to focus on the product line as well as the commission structure (if you can understand it. More on that later.). If you just pick a company because they pay the highest commission or the Rep tells you that they're making tons of money, you're more likely to give up and fail if you can't reproduce the same results.

?

3. The Compensation Plans, Matrix or whatever the hell you call them?.

This is probably the biggest issue for me when looking into MLMs and Network Marketing opportunities. I'll be the first to admit, I suck at math. When I see numbers it gives me the "willies" and a cold sweat. So with that in mind, there may be some bias in my next observation. I've noticed that many MLMs make their compensation plans difficult to understand. Sometimes there are overrides, matrices, levels, legs, arms and whatever other body part they come up with to describe it. I know the argument for them is that it provides a rep various ways to earn more money. That may be the case. But it may also turn people like me away from them because I don't have a PhD in Hieroglyphics to understand how much damn money I actually earn with your company. I ?don't necessarily want to watch a long ass presentation or speak to a cult member? I mean a rep to figure out the compensation plan. Ultimately it shouldn't take an SAT score of 1600 to decipher your compensation plan. All I want to know is that If I sell x amount of product I earn x percentage of that sale! The same simple explanation should should apply to whoever I recruit into the company that makes sales. This nonsense about filling in the legs or levels to earn 1/2 a point, blah, blah is just confusing for the sake of it. Again this may just be MY pet peeve because I'm a simpleton but I suspect there are others that feel the same way.?

?

4. The Start Up Fees.?

There is this lie being fed online and offline that any type of work at home opportunity that requires a fee is a scam. So many legitimate MLMs and Network Marketing opportunities are unjustly categorized this way because of the advice of people who are too lazy to point out the distinctions between a business and a job. In most cases with a job you shouldn't pay a fee directly to work for a company (and even that is flawed because many of us pay indirectly for a job). With a business there are start up fees needed to get your business off the ground which could be inventory, a store front, website, employees, advertising, etc. So obviously money is needed to start a business and thus doesn't mean it's a scam. Now with that said there are some business opportunities that aren't legitimate. So you need to research them like you do any other opportunity. But the mere fact that you need to invest money doesn't make it a scam. The fact that you may not make your money back doesn't make an MLM a scam either. It just means you couldn't cut it or had poor support and training. Now even if you do understand there are fees required for a business, depending on how expensive they are it may be a deal breaker. Some programs expect you to buy a certain amount of product per month to stay a Rep. That's all cool and dandy if you do use those products and services regularly (i.e. Internet, Cell, Phone, Certain Grocercies). But if not, then you may end up with a lot of unwanted product cluttering your home. Then there are companies that don't have this requirement but expect you to cough up a high start up fee and then a monthly fee thereafter for the privilege of selling their products. This can become very excessive depending on the company. It's hard to swallow these type of fees if you're not making any money. Again, it doesn't necessarily make a company a scam. But it's something that may turn folks' way especially if they're tight for money.?

?

5. The Long Ass Meetings or Presentations.?

I don't know how many times I've been asked to go watch a presentation online or come to an offline meeting to learn more about a given opportunity. Look, I've been in this game long enough to know that there is going to be a hard sales pitch or some Jeidi mind trick to get me to join. I don't like being pressured or hypnotized into anything. All I need is the basics. How much will I make (in plain English), what's the product and service, and how long has the company been in business? All the other information about how the owners are multi billionaires, and that your company farts smells like perfume makes no difference to me. Maybe the other information is important but let me dig through that on my own time and pace. Your initial job is to give the most important information first (Who, What, How and When?). ?And no, because I don't want to endure your presentation it doesn't mean I'm not a serious business owner or prospect. It's just my time is precious and I like having control over it without feeling like your next commission or meal ticket. There are also some companies that require a regular meeting with other reps. I can see the benefits of this if it's to help motivate you or provide you with additional information to help you make more sales. You learn faster from other successful people. But if the meeting is about making me feel like crap for not succeeding or trying to convince me to upgrade to some magical system to make more sales, then it's just a bad use of my time.?

?

Now it's your turn..

So what do you think? Do you agree with these observations? Would you add some others or change them? Let me know your thoughts below.?Again there are some great companies out there.

As I said at the start of this article I'm not an MLM or Network Marketing Hater or trying to call you or your company out. So don't get your panties in a bunch if anything I covered above happens to pertain to you or your parent company! ?I think if you find the right company that you truly believe in and the products are useful, you can make some great money! But unfortunately some of the reasons above may prevent people from exploring these great opportunities. The goal of this article is to help people make more informed decisions about the MLM & Network Marketing opportunities they explore.?

My other hope is to discover companies that have addressed these gripes. I know enough about this industry to make me dangerous but I don't know everything or all the great opportunities out there. ?So I'm always looking for additional sources of income and so are my loyal subscribers. If you feel confident that your company addresses all these points and willing to prove it, then chime in with some detailed information below. Don't just be lazy and say hey just visit my website, call me or email me. Keep it 100% and open right on this blog post so others can benefit. I'm sure if you do, then folks will definitely want to contact you. But your responses will probably be measured by some of the reasons we've covered in this article. ;)

Either way I'm looking forward to hearing your experiences with MLMs, Network Marketing and other home based businesses.?

SL-9 was a farside impact. This, apparently, was a nearside (not much detail in the video). We should be worried, it could easily, since it obviously came from within Jupiter's orbit, have intersected with Earth. Anybody who has access to the object's orbital parameters which show that this would have been with 100% certainty, impossible, please feel free to call me a paranoid freak at this point; but we are overdue an ELE (Extinction Level Event) by about 15 million years (I keep reading around the science journals about ELEs happening about every 50 million years, the last one was what? 65 million years ago (the K-T Event)?

What kind of Business Must I Begin On the internet? - GearApp.com

If you?re thinking about starting your own company, then one of one of the most important queries you wish to ask oneself is what kind of company ought to I start online? That?s due to the fact right now a lot more than ever before the internet tends to make not only starting a company but in addition running 1 easier than ever.

One particular kind of organization it is possible to begin on the net is selling in online auctions. Selling products through on-line auctions is one of the hottest occupations there?s. It?s also comparatively effortless to obtain going, with low threat involved.

Folks of all ages and walks of life are earning anyplace from a number of extra dollars to thousands of dollars every month, basically by promoting products on-line. To be productive at on the web auction selling, you wish to perform some research into which internet sites are very best and possess the highest client satisfaction ratings. You?ll also need to know what forms of products and services are the hottest and attempt to offer them so that you can earn good money with on the internet auction promoting.

Then, you could wish to attempt direct sales. In the event you have an item or offer as service, you?ll be able to uncover all of the consumers you?ll ever want on the net. You?ll need to study the industry to see what niche you can fill and after that market place yourself accordingly. Locating customers is tremendously simplified by using e-mail and isn?t as expensive as direct mail or other kinds of marketing and advertising and marketing normally are. Once again, even though, analysis is crucial to direct sales success, so take time to perform your homework.

Another kind of organization it is possible to start off on the internet is known as affiliate advertising. This is when you industry the merchandise and services of someone else. There?s a wide variety of products and services that you could sign up with to grow to be an affiliate marketer. Affiliate marketing and advertising is generally completed by supplying hyperlinks in your site towards the merchandiser or service provider?s web site. It is possible to also post advertisements that include your affiliate marketer ID, to ensure that when someone visits the advertised web site, you get a commission on any sales that are made. Investigation is very important right here as well, as some merchandisers spend a considerably higher commission than other individuals, and also you also wish to discover as much about affiliate marketing as possible to make sure your achievement.

Multi-level advertising and marketing (MLM) programs are yet another form of enterprise that several folks start off on the net. MLM companies are typically scams, though, so you would like to be careful and be sure that the firm is legitimate and has not been involved in any legal proceedings. You also want to make sure that the business features an actual person to get in touch with, a land address and phone number. If any of those are missing, it?s typically evidence that you?re dealing with a scam.

Too, MLM has its pros and cons. You can find a lot of men and women who are adamant that MLMs are evil and only exist to produce other people wealthy. This really is correct of some, but you?ll find other individuals which can be truly a group effort which can be developed to make money for everybody. The trick would be to choose a MLM which has a product which you believe in and a firm that stands behind its item and people. A great rule of thumb is always to always be particular that any MLM organization you could be enthusiastic about to is really a company with a heritage plus a reputation for service to both its employees and consumers. Companies like Tupperware and Avon are examples of productive, long-standing MLMs and really should set the normal for any you take into account.

Ultimately, the key to answering the query what sort of organization must I start off on the web is always to ask yourself does this company suit me. For any Net enterprise to become successful, you have to adore what you?re performing and believe in your item. Internet organizations take work and operate to get up and running, just like any other kind of business. Bear in mind that loving what you do could be the most significant consideration of all when picking any career or business chance.

Baltimore Ravens Rout Cincinnati Bengals, 44-13: Ray Rice, Joe Flacco Star On 'Monday Night Football'

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens' new no-huddle offense gave the Cincinnati Bengals no chance to win.

Joe Flacco threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns, Ed Reed took an interception 34 yards for a score, and the Ravens rolled to a 44-13 victory Monday night to extend their home winning streak to 11 games.

Flacco and the offense worked this summer on running plays without a huddle, and when it came time to put the new scheme into action, the results were almost flawless. The Ravens amassed 430 yards, didn't commit a turnover and punted only twice.

"That tempo really helped us out because those guys can really get to the passer and really create a lot of pressure," Flacco said. "I think the fact that we were able to go up-tempo and kind of keep those guys on the field took its toll on them."

After letting an early 14-point lead dwindle to 17-13, the Ravens pulled away by scoring 24 straight points in just over six minutes. Ray Rice ran for 68 yards and two short scores, but instead of dominating the Baltimore attack in his usual fashion, the running back took a back seat to Flacco.

"Obviously, everything went pretty well for us tonight," Flacco said.

Not so for the Bengals, who made the playoffs last year without beating a team that qualified for postseason play. In this one, Cincinnati once again came up short against a high-caliber opponent.

"That certainly wasn't what we expected to have out there today," coach Marvin Lewis said. "We got outplayed and we got outcoached."

Although the 44 points were only 11 fewer than the Ravens mustered in two games against Cincinnati last year, Lewis insisted Baltimore's no-huddle attack wasn't the difference.

"I wish I could say it was the no-huddle," he said. "I think it's an effective thing for them, and it's something they'll continue to do, but I don't think it really bothered us."

The loss sure did.

"They just outplayed us," defensive tackle Domata Peko said. "They just beat us today, and we've got to get better."

Flacco watched the final eight minutes of the blowout on the sideline after going 21 for 29 in Baltimore's ninth consecutive victory in the AFC North. The Ravens were the only team in the division to win an opener.

And while the offense certainly was impressive, Baltimore's defense also excelled in its first game under coordinator Dean Pees. Playing without injured NFL Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs ? who had 14 sacks last year ? the Ravens dropped Andy Dalton four times.

Not only that, but Baltimore turned two turnovers into touchdowns over a two-minute span. After Reed's touchdown return, 37-year-old linebacker Ray Lewis forced a fumble that was recovered by Lardarius Webb, setting up a 1-yard touchdown run by Rice to make it 41-13 with 13:41 remaining.

Lewis and the Baltimore defense are used to carrying this team, but now the offense seems ready to do its part.

"Joe kind of got us into a rhythm and always kept their defense off balance," Lewis said. "We've practiced against this offense all offseason, so to see it now, when everything's real, I think you have to take your hats off to how hard we worked as a team."

Reed's jaunt with a pass tipped by Cincinnati receiver Brandon Tate put the diminutive safety in the NFL record book. Reed has 1,497 yards in interception returns, eclipsing the previous record of 1,483 yards by Rod Woodson. It was Reed's seventh career score on a pickoff return.

Dalton went 22 for 37 for 221 yards, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 91 yards and a score in his Cincinnati debut.

Dalton went 4 for 5 for 56 yards in the opening drive of the second half, and although the drive stalled at the Baltimore 1, Mike Nugent kicked a 19-yard field goal to get the Bengals to 17-13.

Flacco brought the Ravens right back, throwing a bit of Rice into the mix with excellent results. Rice caught a screen pass for 18 yards and ran for 13 more during an 89-yard drive in which Flacco went 5 for 7 for 73 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dennis Pitta.

After a 40-yard field goal by Ravens rookie Justin Tucker made it 27-13 with 1:13 left in the quarter, Reed struck exactly one minute later.

Flacco went 12 for 15 for 183 yards in the first half to stake Baltimore to a 17-10 lead.

Flacco set the tone for the shootout on the game's first offensive play, throwing deep to Torrey Smith for a 52-yard gain. That set up a 46-yard field goal by Tucker, who won the job in training camp from Billy Cundiff.

Baltimore quickly forced a punt, and Flacco went back to work. He completed a 16-yarder to Jacoby Jones on a third-and-15, tossed a 1-yard pass to Rice on a fourth-and-1 and watched from the backfield as Rice completed the 12-play, 63-yard drive with a 7-yard touchdown run behind a fine block by fullback Vonta Leach.

"It was really fun for me. I barely got hit tonight," Rice said.

After Dalton got Cincinnati to 10-3 with a 76-yard march that ended with a field goal, Flacco capped an 82-yard drive by splitting two defenders with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Anquan Boldin.

The Ravens finally punted with 6 minutes left in the first half, and Dalton used the rest of the time to move the Bengals to their lone touchdown. The Bengals twice converted fourth downs on the 81-yard march, the last one a 6-yard run into the end zone by Green-Ellis on a fourth-and-1.

NOTES: Ravens owner Art Modell was honored with a tribute and a moment of silence before the game. ... Reed hurt his hamstring on the runback but says he's OK. ... Bengals safety George Iloka hurt his ankle in the first half.
